The race is June 21, 2026 — Father’s Day — at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park in Oakville, Ontario. 8:00 AM start. Flat, fast, chip-timed, and set against one of the best waterfront backdrops in the Greater Toronto Area.
This isn’t just a sponsorship announcement. RunMate Pro and the Bronte Harbour Classic share the same DNA — both built in Oakville, both rooted in the local running community, and both designed around the idea that running should be accessible, fun, and worth showing up for.
Who’s Behind the Race
The Bronte Harbour Classic is organized by TapeGeeks and the Bronte Runners Club — the running community Greg co-leads out of Bronte, Oakville.
I’m co-directing the race alongside Charles Sathmary, the other co-lead of Bronte Runners and a former elite Canadian distance runner (2:13 marathon, sub-4-minute mile). Our race advisor, Greg Pace, has directed the Moon in June Road Race in Burlington for over 30 years.
This race grew out of the Bronte Runners community. We wanted a local event that felt worthy of the venue — a proper chip-timed 5K with serious prizes, elite race operations, and a post-race festival that sticks around long after the finish line tape comes down.
The Venue: Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park
The course runs along the waterfront in Bronte Harbour — a paved, flat loop with Lake Ontario on one side and the park on the other. Zero hills. Personal-best-friendly.
The same park hosts the post-race festival: live music, food, local vendors, and the prize ceremony. It’s a destination race in every sense. If you’ve never run Bronte Harbour, this is the race to do it.

Mercedes-Benz Oakville is the title sponsor of the Bronte Harbour Classic — which means the full name is the Mercedes-Benz Oakville Bronte Harbour Classic 5K.
That partnership comes with the race’s most talked-about prize.
What’s at Stake: The Prize Package
The Bronte Harbour Classic is offering one of the most competitive prize packages of any local 5K in Ontario.
Grand Prize Draw: Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE53 Weekend Experience
Every registered participant is entered into a draw to win a Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE53 weekend experience — provided by Mercedes-Benz Oakville.
(Ontario residents only, valid Class G license required, age 25+, current auto insurance.)
Not a raffle ticket. Not a hat. A weekend in an AMG GLE53.
Cash Prizes: $1,600 CAD Total
The top three finishers in both the men’s and women’s open categories earn cash:

The Kids 1K Fun Run
The Bronte Harbour Classic also includes a Kids 1K Fun Run for ages 2–12. Same medals, same finish line. A first race for a lot of young runners in Oakville.
If you’re running the 5K and bringing family, the Kids 1K runs alongside — everyone finishes together and stays for the festival.
